Finaly a story to tell worthy of the Blog.

Well kids gather around for once again it is story time with Hammy. It has been a wonderful day so far. I have the day to do nothing and so as a result Marcus and I decided that we would go and climb at this sweet spot that he knew about. So we went. On our way out we decided to hit the store for some goodies. I noticed that the gas prices had come down and thought that was fantastic. Well as you can probably see where this is going I will continue forward. We then headed out on our little adventure. We started heading out south of town and were headed into the La Sal Canyon to do some climbing. On our way to our location it became very hilly. On our way up we were laughing and talking about some great times from the past and as we were nearing our destination maybe between 2-5 minutes out Emmy, for those of you who don't know who Emmy is that would be my Bus, started to jump like she was running out of gas. I then looked over at Marcus and said, "Marcus, We're running out of gas. So we laughed about that and thanked our lucky stars that we were on a very steep hill. So we flipped around which had to be done in reverse because I couldn't get the car to run. So upon switching directions and heading back out of the canyon we continued to joke about it. Marcus relived the only three other experiences he's had with running out of gas. Two of which were in VW's. Well we made it out of the canyon no problem and decided that if we could make it this far we could make it to the gas station. The car was running just fine and so we just kind of rationalized that it was the hill and that there was plenty of gas to get us to a station to fill up. That was where we were wrong. We got what we thought was roughly about three plus miles from the gas station and ran out of gas. As a last ditch effort I popped Emmy into Neutral and we began a coast towards the station. This was great because as long as we peaked out on the hill we would make it to the Shell station no problem. Well we barely peaked and then began the descent into the wonderful world of "oh we have this no problem." As we pulled into the station I had to pull all the way around all of the pumps just to get to the last one so that i could get to the pump on the passenger side. This was one of the most amazing times that I have had since I have been here. Once again it was just another adventure to add to the wonderful story book that Marcus and I have started and continue to add to. So needless to say it was awesome and we actually went back climbed and on the way back in we measured the length at which we traveled and it was exactly three miles and roughly two tenths of a mile. So I hope that you all enjoyed. I chuckled to myself just by rewriting it. It is a treasure to be here and to be surrounded by such great people.

Guest blogger

Tim hanging out and feeling the joy of being on the wall. Tim upclose and personal.
Quinn's last climb ahhhh!
Bouldering Baby!

Quinn and Jo and Jess

Hee hee! This is Tim's sister Jessie and since I have the photos from the last few days of Tim's trip on my computer, I get to blog them for him. I thought pink font would be fun and would add a new dimmension to his blog. So here we go...

We had a BLAST with Tim here. We kept him so busy. Our last two days included a zoo trip where unfortunately I forgot the camera, a visit to gymnastics and of course climbing Climb Nashville. We spent 5 hours at the gym, which for most of Tim's friends is probably no biggy, but for my sister in law and my brother in law and myself, was a whole heap of fun and good sore muscles. Tim showed me the new love of his life. Contrary to popular belief this is not a girl but bouldering. It was fun. A good short challenge with a fun fall at the end. I successfully climbed one route and lots of online routes. Tim is so fun to watch. He makes friends where ever he goes and is the best for encouraging others to achieve their potential. I think we can all learn a good lesson on how to be better that way from him. Well enough about my feelings. You all know that Tim is a great kiddo and that I love him.

Redneck Slip and Slide (Nashville Part 3)

Just for referrence on this where you see Nick and I you can count on pain. I don't think that there was a moment where being followed by Nick on the slide didn't in some way or form equate to some form of pain. Well anyways, here are some very lovely pictures of the slide and what we have accomplished. It is fantastic. There was a huge competition between the boys, as always, on who could slide the furthest and well needless to say Morgan did take the cake. He went all the way down to the fence. So just so you get an idea on how long this slide was it was 100 ft. long and we were sliding an additional 30 to 40 feet down to the fence. This is of course across acorn and stick infested grass. I tell you what I am feeling the pain. I have a lot of great war wounds and am looking to finish out the stay with what ever else comes my way. Stay tuned for more, oh and if you are just checking this take a second to scroll on down and see what else is on here. I do believe that I have posted a lot of new stuff in the last 2 or 3 days. Well this is hammy signing out.
Later.

Nashville Part 2

Well lets just take a moment to note that when playing with kids on a swing they want nothing more than for you to push them higher and higher. So these are all at central park. This was a lot of fun. This was also my first experience with a magnolia tree hence why I am hanging from a tree like a monkey. The kids are adorable and Jessie and I have had a ton of fun hanging out together. Just note that this has been one crazy adventure so far. But I am having a hard time keeping up with my energy level compared to the kids. I feel like I need a nap every hour just to keep up with them. Well I think that is good for now.
Hammy Out.

Ren Fair was a blasty

This Ren Fair was a ton of fun. Oh man there was all sorts of crazy costumes and people in characters that were either really obscene or just plain funny. So needless to say it was great fun. I have to go for now because It is Liams turn for the computer. Have a great day and I will hop on later.

Nashville part 1

Well this is when I first arrived here in Nashville. It is great to be back around my sister and her family. I have missed them so. I am having a great time and can't help, but think of all the great things that we are doing now and will be doing for the rest of the week. I am a little sad at how fast everything is happening, but at the same time I am trying not to think about it. So instead I will let you enjoy the pictures and make up your mind on how fun of a time I am having. And soon to come on either this blog or my sisters blog is a list of quotes that have been said by some of us that have been absolutly hilarious. Until the next post. Have a great day.

New Updates.

Well I thought that I would take some time to update the new and adventurous things that are happening with the house. First of all the "Sold" sign is up, which means that I am almost official and it just keeps getting closer and closer. Second I will be closing on the 4th and not on the 6th so that is a whole two extra days in my hands. Third I have a washer and dryer for the house and am working on a lawn mower. As well I am still franticly trying to find a fridge and a stove. I hope that I don't have to go out and by one that wouldn't be fun at all. Well I do believe that is about it. I am just waiting on mom to download and e-mail the pictures so that I can post them on the blog. I am sure that she will put them up on the family blog, but not many of my friends know the family blogs address so you will have to sit in suspense until I get the pictures. Enjoy and I will post more at an undisclosed moment in time. It could be tomorrow or it could be two weeks from now we will just have to see what happens.

Why does life have to be so stinking crazy?

Well I don't know the answer to that question, but what I do know is that I can't wait for school to be over so that I can get out of Pocatello for a while. All though I do have that house that is a big factor in my growing up stage. I am thrilled to be chilling down in Moab this summer with Marcus and to be able to gain knowledge from him in how the river works. I am also excited to see my Sister as well. I get to fly out to see her and the family right after school gets out. That is great. I can't wait. The one thing that I am super excited about though is that one of my best friends in the world just had a baby boy. I will get to meet my new little friend in just about five days. That is so exciting I am anxious and happy for him. Good going J-Dawg and Meg for bringing such a wonderful little person into this world. You two are an inspiration as to what I hope to some day have in my life. But I will have to wait a little while before I can do that. Talk to you all soon.

My life is spinning out of control!

For those of you who don't know what is going on or know a little bit about what is going on in my life let me take some time to fill you in. I will be A) finishing up with this semester in just about 3 weeks. B) Also I will be flying out to Nashville for a week right after school gets out. C) Before I go to Nashville I have to move all of my stuff into the house that I will be closing on May 6th. D) Not to mention that I have to find renters and buy a fridge and a stove all before I leave for floating the rivers down in Moab. Oh man Life just hit an all new playing field level and I don't know if I was fully ready for it, but I have nothing more to do than to jump in with both feet and go to town. I hope that every one is doing well and I will chat later. If you have questions feel free to call. If I can talk I will answer, but I do have some crazy assignments due in some of my classes this week and next week. take care.
Lots of love

Rodeo Week is Over!!!

Well for those of you that don't know it was rodeo week at the Holiday Inn. That means that WE as employees had to put up with cowboys and cowgirls alike that love the alcohol. As I sit and reflect upon the late nights and early mornings, that and a friendly reminder from Malorie whom I am humbled to even be in her presence, that I really did enjoy the week. It wasn't as bad as most made it out to be and really who needs a full eight hours of sleep. really three to four hours is plenty for one nights rest. Just a minor recap on some of the events that were really captivating.
One night we had a group of four cowboys decide that at three in the morning they were going to go swimming. That is a grand and it happens quite often and so night audit is truly skilled in the handlings of late night swimmers, but one out of the three was in the buff. That is always interesting especially for Liz the lucky one that drew the short straw and had to go and kick the nude male and cohorts out of the pool. They did leave not very happily but they did leave.
Next we had the marvelous barking dog that decided to bark continually and with out stopping from about 11pm until 2:30am when we were finally able to get a hold of the owner and tell them to come back and shut their dog up. Well needless to say the owner had to make a quick juant by Jack and the box because drinking and jack in the box tend to go together. We got them to cooperate but we had some very un-happy next door neighbors that next day.
Well I think that is about it for me on this post. I do hope that every one had a great St. Patty's Day. I did even though i had to work I was still able to work in about an hour and a half of good wholesome climbing outside. The first for the season in the warmth and comfort of the outdoors. I think I even got a good start on some color for my trip to Nashville. I would hate to be the only white honky. hahaha. Well I must run. Thanks for tuning into this addition of stories by hammy.
